Mind Field

Surviving every day is like walking through a mine field
Of minds.

Everyone’s a potential hazard.

Many go off; an explosion of thoughts
Deafening you with vocal shrapnel.

You don’t even have to step on them
Toes
To arm the trigger.
They have proximity alarms (can we call their ears that?),
Motion sensors (and this for their eyes?) that detect your awkward attempts at escape
Before you realise too late
That you’re …
Boom!
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

Some are silent killers. The worst kind. You didn’t even have a clue.
You tread on, carefully or not.
Then
… … …
And you’re left picking up the pieces.

Only a few are duds.
God bless the duds.

Surviving a day is like walking through a mind field.
An involuntary walk fated by the heavens
Or maybe it was destined by the hells.
